The Manikganj Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Naimur Rahman Durjoy, the former lawmaker from Manikganj-1 constituency, from the capital's Lalmatia last night (2 July).

Dhaka Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rezaul Karim Mallick confirmed his arrest to The Business Standard.

However, police have not disclosed the specific case in which he was arrested.

Durjoy was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Manikganj-1 constituency in both the 2014 and 2018 national elections as a candidate of the banned Awami League.
