Day labourer shot dead in Rajshahi

A 50-year-old day labourer was shot dead while on his way to a mosque for prayers in Rajshahi tonight (14 February).
The deceased was identified as Md Golam Mostafa, son of Toimur Uddin and resident of Dasmari locality under Motihar Police Station.
Sohel Rana, assistant commissioner of the Motihar Zone, said police began an investigation after receiving reports of the shooting, but no further details were immediately available.
According to family members, Mostafa left home around 8pm to offer prayers. When he reached in front of the Khojapur graveyard, unidentified assailants opened fire, leaving him unconscious. Locals rescued him and took him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
