CU Chhatra Dal brings out torch procession demanding administration's resignation
They also called for justice against attackers, better treatment for the injured, compensation, and a secure campus environment.
Chittagong University (CU) unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) brought out a torch procession this evening (4 September) demanding the resignation of the university administration, alleging its failure to ensure students' safety.
They also called for justice against attackers, better treatment for the injured, compensation, and a secure campus environment.
The procession began around 7pm from the university's Zero Point, passing through Shaheed Minar, and ended in front of the administrative building, where the JCD university unit leaders delivered their speeches.
Participants chanted slogans including "Amar bhai er rokto britha jete debo na," "Amar bhai ko khaay proshason ghumay," and "Dofa ek dabi ek proshasoner podoteg."
CU Chhatra Dal President Alauddin Mohsin said, "When our students were being attacked, the administration was busy with their recruitment trade. This administration can do nothing other than selling jobs."
He further alleged that many students were left homeless, "Our brothers are still roaming around like refugees. The administration must ensure their accommodation and security before resuming classes and exams."
General Secretary Abdullah Al Noman said, "This administration has proven its incompetence. While our brothers are scattered in different places, the authorities are busy making a mockery of the situation. They will be dragged down from their seats."
