Ctg Port workers get Tk16.65cr incentive bonus after record handling
The workers received Tk25,000 each from the Chattogram Port Container, Cargo Handling Workers and Employees Welfare Fund.
Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) has distributed Tk16.65 crore as a special incentive bonus among 6,750 listed workers and employees following record container and cargo handling in 2025.
The workers received Tk25,000 each from the Chattogram Port Container, Cargo Handling Workers and Employees Welfare Fund, according to a CPA press release issued today (7 September).
The authority said the bonus was provided to encourage workers and maintain smooth port operations and industrial peace.
The payment was made following a decision by the CPA board.
A cheque distribution ceremony was held at the CPA boardroom, where senior officials handed over the bonus cheques to owners and representatives of berth, terminal and ship-handling operators.
The port authority said the bonus was funded entirely by the welfare fund established for workers and employees involved in container and cargo handling at Chattogram Port.
The incentive comes as the port continues to handle growing volumes of containers and cargo, placing greater emphasis on maintaining uninterrupted operational activities and labour stability.
CPA Director (Transport), Director (Administration), Chief Welfare Officer, Deputy Secretary (Coordination), Welfare Officer and other senior officials attended the ceremony.
