He was tragically killed yesterday (26 November) during an unrest in Chattogram.

A lawyer at Chattogram Judge Court, Alif was killed during the unrest centring rejection of bail of former Iskcon Bangladesh leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari.

His elderly father, Jamal Uddin, repeatedly lost consciousness from the shock of his son's death.

Through tears, Jamal Uddin demanded justice for his son, saying, "I want justice for my son's murder. I leave the judgment call to Allah. May Allah hold them accountable."

He was the fourth among seven siblings.

Alif's elder sister, Jannat Ara Begum, expressed her anguish and said, "My younger brother Alif has a three-year-old daughter who lost her father. His unborn child will never get to see him. What could be more heartbreaking? Why was my innocent brother killed? We demand justice for his murder."

The loss has left Alif's family and colleagues in anguish.

Alif's nephew, Taslimul Hasan, added, "My uncle was a very kind man. Whenever we met, he would always check on my studies and well-being. We demand the death penalty for those who murdered him."

Hailing from Amirabad in Lohagara upazila of Chattogram, Alif was recently appointed as an assistant public prosecutor in Chattogram court.

The attack on Alif occurred on Tuesday (26 November ) around 3:30pm near Methor Patti, adjacent to Rangam Cinema Hall in Kotwali, Chattogram when Chinmoy was being taken to prison in a sedition case over alleged desecration of the national flag.

He was later rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
