A grocery shop owner, who also operates as an agent of several mobile financial services, was attacked and looted of Tk3 lakh by unidentified men at Bhola's Borhanuddin upazila on Tuesday (3 December) night.

"The attack has left him severely injured. He was initially taken to the Upazila Health Complex. But due to the severity of his injuries, he had to be moved to Barisha Sher-e-Bangla Medical," Al Amin's father Monir Ahmed told The Business Standard.

"I have five sons. Two of them are traders. They have been doing business for over a decade. They have never had any altercations with anyone," he added.

Monir said Al Amin was attacked while returning home with cash from his store. "Three men came in a motorcycle and hit his head with an iron rod from behind. They took over Tk3 lakh in cash and two phones from him."

He said his son has a large store and operates as an agent for MFS providers, including bKash, Nagad, and Rocket.

Meanwhile, Borhanuddin Police Station Officer-in-Charge Siddiqur Rahman said a general diary has been filed over the incident. "We will take action after investigating the incident."
