3 pedestrians killed after being hit by truck in Uttara

Three pedestrians, including a student of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, were killed after being run over by a truck in the Uttara East area of the capital early this morning (30 June).
The incident occurred around 3am. Two of the victims died on the spot, while the third died on the way to hospital.
Confirming the incident, Golam Mostafa, officer-in-charge of Uttara East Police Station, said, "All three deceased are pedestrians. They were run over by a truck. Police have arrested the truck and its driver. Preparations are underway to file a case."
The deceased have been identified as Amit, 23, a student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology; Naimul Haque, 30, an employee of a private institution; and Javed Alam, 55, a resident of Khilkhet in Dhaka.
Police said a stone-laden truck travelling from Mymensingh to Dhaka caused the accident. The bodies were recovered and sent to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
