The child's mother filed a case at the police station regarding the incident

A young man allegedly raped a third-grader girl inside a forest in Gazipur's Sreepur Upazila and recorded the scene on his mobile phone yesterday (8 March).
According to police and local sources, hearing screams from the forest, locals rushed to the scene and rescued the girl. They caught the alleged rapist, 27-year-old Arman, beat him up and later handed him over to the police.
Arman is the son of Shamshul from Niguari village under Pagla Police Station in Mymensingh. For the past few years, he has been living in a hut on Forest Department land in Dargachala (Majhertek) village, located in the Barmi union of Sreepur, and working as a daily wage labourer.
The child, who was rescued and sent to a local hospital by police, said Arman raped her and recorded the scene on his mobile phone.
Her father stated that his daughter had been missing from home since yesterday noon. Then the family started searching for her in various places. In the evening, locals, upon hearing screams from the forest, rushed to the scene to find her and catch Arman.
Sreepur Police Station Inspector (Operations) Nayan Kar said the suspect was produced in court today (9 March) and subsequently sent to jail.
The child's mother filed a case at the police station regarding the incident.
The official also mentioned that during the initial interrogation, Arman admitted to the crime, stating that he committed the act after consuming yaba.
