Sinha murder: Mother of a detained witness forced to file abduction case

Mother of one of the detainees, who have been held by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-15 over retired Army major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case, was forced to file an abduction case on Tuesday.
Several unidentified persons have been accused in the case (case No 19).

RAB-15 on Tuesday detained three persons named Nizam Uddin, Md Ayas and Nurul Amin in connection with the murder case.
All of the detainees are from Marishbunia area under Baharchara of Teknaf.
They are the prime witnesses to the cases of police against Shipra and Sifat, who were accompanying Sinha to make a travel documentary.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station Abul Faisal confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
The RAB sources claimed that the three persons were made witnesses by police in the 'plotted' cases filed against Shipra Debnath and Shahedul Islam Sifat, who were arrested following Sinha's death from police firing in Cox's Bazar' Marine Drive on July 31 night.
The RAB produced the detainees before the senior judicial magistrate court in Cox's Bazar seeking a 10-day remand for each on Tuesday.
However, the court said it would hear the plea on Wednesday, said Ashique Billah, director of RAB's legal and media wing.
The elite force will take the detainees into custody for interrogation.
