Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Saturday night arrested 14 members of a teenage gang from Rajuk Kachabazar area of Uttara in the capital, recovering sharp weapons and Yaba from their possession.

According to Rab officials, they are members of a teenage gang named ‘First Hitter Boss’ aged between 16 and 20 years.

Mohammad Salauddin, Assistant Police Super (Rab-1), told The Business Standard: "Bishu and Shuvo, the gang leaders, have been planning to get into a fight with another gang, and recruiting more boys in their gang for the purpose."

"In the meantime, we have arrested them and recovered machetes and Yaba from them," he further added.

Apart from the 14 members arrested, there are other members in the gang, most of them being school-going students, he informed.

Mohammad Salauddin also claimed that the boys, in collusion with local political leaders, had been involved with snatching and kidnapping.

Through these activities they want to demonstrate their domination in the area, he concluded.
