Man jailed for 7-year for killing wife in Faridpur
According to the case details, Ayub, along with his family members, tortured Fazron to death over dowry disputes on 8 October 2013

A Faridpur court today (22 June) sentenced a man to 7-year rigorous imprisonment for killing his wife over dowry in 2013.
Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal (District and Sessions) Judge Shamima Parvin passed the verdict in the presence of the convict, said court sources.
The convict, Ayub Ali, 52, used to live with his wife, Fazron Begum, 30, in Sekhor village in Boalmari upazila.
According to the case details, Ayub, along with his family members, tortured Fazron to death over dowry disputes on 8 October, 2013. Then, they all fled their house. Being informed, police recovered the body.
Subsequently, victim's brother filed a murder case with Boalmari police Station.
The court also fined Ayub Tk10,000, in default of which he has to spend an additional six-month in jail.
After the verdict, Ayub Ali was sent to the Faridpur Jail, said Advocate Golam Rabbani Bhuiyan, public prosecutor of the tribunal.
Expressing satisfaction with the verdict, the public prosecutor said his case will stand as a stark warning to those who seek dowry and resort to killing their wives when their demands are not met.
