Man held hours after allegedly killing mother in Faridpur
Rahim allegedly killed his mother at their home in Faridpur town and fled the scene before police arrested him in Saltha hours later.
Police arrested a 32-year-old man in the Saltha area of Faridpur last night (30 July), hours after he allegedly killed his mother at their home in the city.
Faridpur Kotwali Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Sukanta Dutta said the accused, Abdur Rahim Sheikh, was arrested in Saltha around 8:30pm.
According to local sources, Rahim allegedly killed his mother, Sahela Akter, 50, at their home in Faridpur town's Abdur Rahman Molladangi area yesterday afternoon and fled the scene.

Police launched a search for him after the incident and arrested him in Saltha, the OC added.
Rahim had previously faced allegations of killing his stepmother and was released on bail about a year ago. His mother had secured his release, according to the correspondent's report.
Police alleged that Rahim killed his mother this time over money for drugs.
Md Mahmudul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Faridpur Kotwali Police Station, said legal proceedings in the case are underway.
