Man hacked to death in clash over poultry business in Mohammadpur
A man was hacked to death during a clash between two groups over a dispute related to a poultry business in the Chandrima Housing area of Dhaka's Mohammadpur late last night (1 November).
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rasel, 35.
Confirming the incident, Kazi Md Rafiqul Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station, said around 12:30am, "We have visited the spot and are collecting details. Rasel suffered serious injuries and later died at the hospital."
According to police and locals, the clash broke out following an argument over the business, during which several local teenage gang members also joined. At one stage, Rasel was attacked and repeatedly hacked with sharp weapons.
He was later taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
