Man found dead on roof of Dhaka-bound train in Kushtia
The deceased was identified as Nurul Islam, son of Bazlul Ahmed, a resident of the Sadhanpur area under Banshkhali upazila in Chattogram
Police recovered the bloodied body of a 30-year-old man from the roof of a moving train in Kushtia today (23 May).
The body was recovered around 12:30pm from the roof of the Dhaka-Khulna bound Sundarban Express at Kushtia Court Station.
The deceased was identified as Nurul Islam, son of Bazlul Ahmed, a resident of the Sadhanpur area under Banshkhali upazila in Chattogram.
Poradah Railway Police Station Sub-Inspector Nurul Islam said the victim was identified through a photocopy of his national identity card found in his possession.
He said the body was sent to the morgue for an autopsy, adding that the exact cause of death is yet to be determined.
According to locals, workers constructing a gate marking Eid near the Kushtia Mill Line rail crossing noticed a bloodied man lying on the roof of the train as it passed through the area.
They later informed a journalist, who alerted the Poradah Railway Police.
Acting on the information, members of the railway police recovered the body from the train roof after the train reached Kushtia Court Station.
