An eve-teaser was caught by some workers while he was disturbing female workers at a factory in BSCIC area in Barishal on Wednesday.

Shohag alias Masua Shohag, 35, son of Abdul Khaleque Howlader of Kownia area, was handed over to Kawnia Police Station.  He is a bus transportation worker.

Chairman of Fortune Group Mizanur Rahman said, "Shohag was loitering in front of the Fortune Shoes factory and disturbing the factory girls when they came outside at noon."

They informed the police about the matter and police arrested Shohag outside the factory, said the chairman, adding that Shohag is also a drug peddler.

Some female workers said, "We often get illicit offers from youths like Shohag on the way home and to the factory."

The work environment of BSCIC here is going to be worse for eve-teasers, drug peddlers and snatchers, they said.

However, the arrestee Shohag said, "I came to the BSCIC to visit and I have no connection with any sort of criminal activities."

The chairman further said that a case would be filed with Kawnia Police Station in this connection.

Soon after the arrest incident of Masua Shohag, a group of bus transportation workers blocked Rupatoli area and Nathullabad bus stand demanding the immediate release of Shohag, said our local correspondent quoting the bus workers.

They blocked the areas holding the vehicle movements for around two hours from 7:30 pm.

Shohag alleged that he was tortured physically by the people of Fortune Group inside BSCIC area. For this reason, he filed a case with Kawnia Police Station in this connection.

The case was filed against Chairman of Fortune Group Mizanur Rahman and its two directors- Rabiul Islam and Shafiqul Islam, said Azimul Hque, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kawnia Police Station.

In the meantime, police, however, released Masua Shohag after the case regarding physical torture.
