Gulshan OC suspended for delay in filing robbery case

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gulshan Police Station Touhid Ahmed has been suspended on charges of delaying the filing of a case in a robbery incident.
On Sunday (19 January), he was attached to the Rajarbagh Police Lines, said Talebur Rahman, deputy ommissioner (media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
According to the police, on 11 January, a group of robbers, claiming to be members of joint forces, looted the house of a businessman on the Gulshan Avenue.
They fled with valuables worth Tk46 lakh and 60 bhori of gold jewellery.
After the incident, the victim went to Gulshan Police Station to file a case, but even after waiting several days, he was unable to do so.
Eventually, he informed senior officials of the DMP about the issue.
Following this, the OC was temporarily suspended and in his place, Mahmudur Rahman of Kadamtali Police Station has been assigned the responsibility of Gulshan Police Station.
Despite multiple attempts to contact Touhid Ahmed for a comment, he did not respond.
