Garment worker gang-raped in Ctg, 3 arrested
Police arrested the accused on Friday morning
A garment worker was gang-raped when she went to visit a friend in Chattogram's Bayezid Bostami area on Thursday night.
The incident took place at Sher Shah Colony area under Bayezid Police Station. Police arrested three accused on Friday morning.
The arrested are – Saifur Rahman Sumon, 28, Mehedi Hasan Johnny, 32, and Md Alam, 25.

Bayezid police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Kamruzzaman said, "The victim went to Sher Shah Colony around 9pm Thursday to see her friend Salauddin Ahmed Munna. While they were talking, accused Sumon and Johnny came there and beat Munna. He was forced to leave the place. Later, the two took her to an abandoned house, and took turns raping her."
"Then, Sumon and Johnny brought Munna to the scene. The duo put him beside the victim and took pictures. The third accused Alam was watching over them during the whole incident," the OC added.
The OC further said police arrested the accused as the victim filed a case with the police station on Thursday night. The girl was sent to the One Stop Crisis Centre of Chattogram Medical College Hospital for treatment.
