Female garment worker stabbed to death in Ctg

A female garment worker was allegedly stabbed to death by an unidentified assailant in Madhyam Halishahar area of Chattogram city this evening (5 April).
The victim, Chandni Khatun, 22, was critically injured in the knife attack around 5pm near Bakar Ali Fakir Tek intersection, and died at Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
"The woman was walking home when a young man stabbed her multiple times and fled the scene. Locals rushed her to the hospital, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Bandar Zone) Mahmudul Hasan told The Business Standard.
The deceased was from Khajuria village in Dacope upazila, Khulna, and worked at Evertop Bangladesh Ltd's factory in the Chattogram Export Processing Zone.
Responding to questions, the police officer said they were looking for the suspect "who might be her husband or lover."
However, the motive behind the attack could not be known immediately. Police are working to gather more information and identify those involved.
