Drug dealer detained with yaba pills, weapons in Faridpur
During the operation, law enforcers detained Nasir Uddin Hira, 45, and recovered 50 yaba tablets and three locally made weapons from his possession

A joint patrol team of the army and police detained a drug dealer along with yaba pills and locally made weapons from a house in the Janata Bank Mor area of Faridpur Sadar upazila last night (24 June).
Acting on a tip-off from locals that drug trading was taking place at a residential flat above Janata Bank, a patrol team from the Faridpur army camp, in coordination with the police, launched a raid at the location at around 10pm.
During the operation, law enforcers detained Nasir Uddin Hira, 45, and recovered 50 yaba tablets and three locally made weapons from his possession.
"During primary interrogation, Hira admitted to being a long-time supplier of yaba in the area. His flat on the third floor above Janata Bank served as one of the key distribution hubs for illegal drugs," said a member of the patrol team.
The detainee and the seized contraband have been handed over to the Faridpur Kotwali police station. Legal proceedings are currently underway.
According to army sources, the military is maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against illegal weapons, narcotics, extortion, and terrorism. The army has urged citizens to support efforts to curb crime by providing information to local army camps.
