Police have recovered hanging body of a male domestic help from the residence of Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan at Basundhara residential area in the capital on Sunday. 

The deceased was identified as Mostafizur Rahman, 39. Hailing from Mymensingh's Trishal area, Mostafizur had been working in the house for the last one and a half years. 

Moktaruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Bhatara Police Station, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

"We got a call from Bashundhara Group chairman's residence in the morning. The caller informed us that one of their housekeepers has committed suicide by hanging himself inside his room. Uphon receiving the call, police reached the spot and recovered the body breaking down the door," said OC Moktaruzzaman. 

He further said, "On Saturday night, Mostafizur called his brother-in-law over phone and said that he did not want to live because of illness. We found no injury or abnormality on his body. Besides, no sign of abnormality was found in his room. So, it is thought to be a suicide."

The police official further said, "Russell Sikder, brother-in-law of Mostafizur, has filed a case of unnatural death. The body has been sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy."
