Another suspect detained over Abrar murder

The Detective Branch of police has detained a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) today over his suspected involvement in the Abrar Fahad murder.
The detainee, Shakhawat Ikbal Ovi, was held from Dhaka's Dhanmandi area in the morning, said a DB source.
He will be shown arrest in the murder case if he is found guilty in the primary interrogation, otherwise will be released after quizzing, the source added.
Abrar, 22, a second-year-student of Buet's electrical and electronics engineering department was allegedly beaten to death allegedly by a group of Chhatra League men in his dormitory Sher-E-Bangla Hall on Monday over his suspected affiliation with Chhatra Shibir.
So far 14 people have been arrested in the sensational murder as Abrar's father Barkat Ullah filed a case against 19 with Chawkbazar police station.
On Tuesday, a Dhaka court placed 10 Chhatra League leaders on a 5-day remand in connection with the murder.
