Another arrested over RAB member murder in Ctg's Jungle Salimpur

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested another man in connection with a case filed over the killing of a RAB member in Chattogram's Jungle Salimpur area.
In a statement, RAB-7 said Md Imran, 25, was arrested yesterday (20 June) from the Patharighona area of Salimpur union in Sitakunda upazila based on intelligence information.
According to RAB, Imran was identified during the investigation of the murder case filed with Sitakunda Police Station.
An operational team conducted a drive at around 4:30pm after receiving information that Imran was staying in the area, RAB said.
The force also said he has been handed over to Sitakunda Police Station for further legal action.
On 19 January, RAB personnel came under attack while conducting an operation in the Jungle Salimpur area. RAB-7 Deputy Assistant Director Abdul Motaleb was killed and several others were injured in the incident.
A case was filed on 22 January under various sections of the Penal Code, including charges of murder, attempted murder, obstruction of public duty, abduction and extortion.
RAB said drives are continuing to arrest other accused named in the first information report as well as those identified during the investigation.
So far, 28 accused have been arrested in connection with the case.
