ACC to sue ex-press secy Nayeemul, wife for not submitting wealth statements
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard on Monday, ACC Deputy Director Akhtarul Islam said the cases will be filed soon.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved the filing of cases against Md Nayeemul Islam Khan, former press secretary of the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and his wife, Nasima Khan Monty, for failing to submit their wealth statements within the stipulated timeframe.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard on Monday, ACC Deputy Director Akhtarul Islam said the cases will be filed soon.
According to ACC, Nayeemul is accused of violating the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004, for failing to submit his statement of assets and liabilities within the deadline.
Similarly, his wife Nasima faces the same allegation under the same provision of the law.
The ACC stated that both were instructed to submit their wealth statements but failed to comply within the prescribed period.
