Abducted madrasa student rescued in Netrokona, one detained

Police have rescued a madrasa student who was abducted from Madan upazila of Netrokona and detained a suspect in connection with the incident.
The detainee Anwar, 20, is a resident of Bashari Joynagar village of the upazila, said Nayem Mohammad Nahid Hasan, officer-in-charge of Madan Police Station today (19 March).
Anwar was detained from the Gog Bazaar area of Kendua upazila on Tuesday night, he said.
Anwar frequently made advances toward the victim on her way to the madrasa. Around 9pm on Monday, when she went outside to use the toilet, he forcibly abducted her, said her family.
"The student's uncle filed a general diary at the police station that night. Later, police conducted an operation on Tuesday night, detained Anwar and rescued the student," said the OC.
"The victim student is in police custody, and arrangements are being made to send her for a health check-up at Netrokona Modern District Hospital. The case will be filed over the matter and Anwar will be shown as arrested in the case before being sent to court," he added.
