6 more arrested for mugging 5 lakh Saudi Riyals from Tejgaon
Police in separate raids in the last 24 hours, arrested six more people from the capital's Green Road, Bhola and Kishoreganj districts for their suspected link to mugging foreign currencies, including 5 lakh Saudi Riyals, in the capital's Tejgaon Industrial area on 1 July.
The arrested have been identified as Md. Abdullah Al Mamun (25), Md. Aryan (19), Md. Sabbir Hossain (20), Md. Zahidul Islam Sohag (25), Md. Joy (23) and Md. Bijoy (20).
A joint team of Detective Branch (DB) of police and Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station in the raids at the capital's Green Road, Char Fashion in Bhola and Nikli in Kishoreganj arrested the six individuals.

They seized 1,30,500 looted Saudi Riyals, three motorcycles used in the robbery from their possessions, said Deputy Commissioner of DB Muhammad Talebur Rahman.
With the latest arrest of six people, a total of 13 people were apprehended in connection with the mugging.
Police earlier arrested seven individuals for their suspected links to the mugging.
They also seized 2,69,240 Saudi Riyals worth about Tk88,84,000 from their possessions.
With the latest seizure, the police have so far seized around 4 lakh Saudi Riyals out of the looted 5 lakh Saudi Riyals.
Those arrested were Md. Tuhin (28), an employee of M/s MM Ayat Tours and Travels, Talha Noor (35), Sharmin (25), Md. Shahin Sikder (37), Yasin Arafat (36), Md. Rafiqul Islam (36) and Md. Shuvo Hawlader (25).
A gang of 10 to 12 unidentified criminals stopped a private car with country-made weapons in their hands in front of the passenger shed on the North side of the main gate of the Central Pharmacy under Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station in the capital around 6:25 pm on 1 July.
They mugged 4,91,500 Saudi Riyals, 400 Omani Riyals, 30 Kuwaiti Dinars and 12,350 United Arab Emirates Dirhams, which is equivalent to Tk1,64,00,000, police said.
Later, all the accused divided the looted foreign currencies among themselves and went into hiding.
A regular case was registered with Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station in connection with the robbery.
