5 arrested with sharp weapons, drugs while preparing to rob commercial ship in Mongla

Five members of the notorious "Suman Bahini" have been arrested with locally-made sharp weapons and drugs while preparing to steal from a commercial ship in Mongla Upazila of Bagerhat.
They were apprehended during a raid by Bangladesh Coast Guard personnel from Mongla West Zone on the Bhadra River near the Sundarbans Forest Department office area yesterday afternoon (21 March), according to a press release issued by the force today (22 March).

The arrestees have been identified as Md Jony, 19, Md Aliraj, 25, and Swapan Munshi, 40, from Mongla, and Md Azim, 26, and Md Mezbah, 19, from Koyra Upazila.
According to the coast guard, the arrestees have multiple cases of theft, drug offences, and assault filed against them at Mongla and Koyra police stations, and they are listed as fugitives in those cases.
This morning, the five men were handed over to Mongla Police Station along with the seized items.
