Forty-seven Vietnam returnees were released from Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur on Tuesday afternoon. An order for their release from the court reached the jail earlier, and after the verification was completed, they were released with their belongings.

Recently, 106 Bangladeshis returned to the country after being the victims of fraud in Vietnam. After returning, they were supposed to go to their respective homes at the end of the official quarantine period. But, the Turag police arrested them instead.

Nur Mohammad, jailor of Kashimpur Central Jail-1, said 19 of the Vietnam returnees were sent to the jail on September 5. After the court ordered their release, the returnees were freed on Tuesday afternoon.
