One person, identified as Jabed, sustained critical injuries in the incident, Zajira Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saleh Ahmad confirmed, adding that the confrontation took place around 10am at Budhairhat Bazar area.
Earlier, upon receiving the information, police and additional members of other law enforcement agencies reached the scene and brought the situation under control.
OC Saleh Ahmad said, "The clash occurred due to a long-standing dispute between the followers of Kuddus Bepari and Jalil Madbar. The violence broke out as part of an attempt to establish renewed dominance.
