Sinha murder: Constable Rubel put on remand
The court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah has granted the remand

A Cox's Bazar court on Wednesday placed Constable Rubel Sharma on a 7-day remand in connection with the murder of retired Army major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan.
The court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah has granted the remand following the hearing on the 10-day remand application submitted by the RAB, said Md Khairul Islam, assistant superintendent of RAB and the investigating officer of Sinha murder case.
After the remand order, Constable Rubel was taken back to Cox's Bazar Jail at around 1:30pm.
Earlier on September 14, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Constable Rubel Sharma, the lattermost arrestee, over the Sinha murder case.
Retired major Sinha was killed in police firing at Shamlapur police check-post at Teknaf's Baharchhara union, on Cox's Bazar Marine Drive, on the night of July 31.
Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, Sinha's elder sister, filed a case at the Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court on August 5 over the murder.
On August 6, seven members of police surrendered to the court. In the last one month, RAB arrested 13 people, including 3 members of Units Armed Police Battalion (APBN), and remanded them for various terms.
Of them, 12 accused have given confessional statements before the court. However, Teknaf police station Officer-in-Charge Pradeep Kumar Das, one of the prime accused in the case, has not given any confessional statement yet.
