The High Court today ordered authorities concerned to shut down all brick kilns around Dhaka city within two months.
A bench comprising Justice F R Nazmul Ahsan and Justice K M Kamrul Quader passed the order after settling a ruling, issued following a writ to curb Dhaka's air pollution.
The court also gave directives to find out factories which burn tyres to make oil and shut them down within one month.

Lawyer Manzil Morshed stood for the writ petition, while Deputy Attorney General ABM Abdullah-al- Mahmud Bashar stood for the state.
Lawyer Sayeed Ahmed Raja and Toufiq Enam Tipu stood for the two city corporations of Dhaka.
Earlier a writ petition was filed by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB) on January 27, 2019 attaching different reports published in media on air pollution in Dhaka.
The following day, the High Court ordered the DoE to conduct mobile court drives twice a week to take legal action against those responsible for air pollution in the capital.
