Probe report submission deferred for 43rd time in Buet student Sunny murder case
According to the case statement, Tariquzzaman Sunny, a fifth-year architecture student at Buet, went to Mainot Ghat in Dohar upazila of Dhaka with 15 friends on 14 July 2022 and went missing during the trip.
A Dhaka court has deferred the submission of the investigation report in the murder case of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) student Tariquzzaman Sunny for the 43rd time, fixing 6 October as the new date.
The court of Dhaka Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman set the new date today (6 September), as the investigating officer, SI Mashiur Rahman of the Kutubpur River Police Outpost, failed to submit the report on the scheduled date.
Sub-Inspector Mazharul Islam of the Prosecution Department confirmed the matter.

According to the case statement, Tariquzzaman Sunny, a fifth-year architecture student at Buet, went to Mainot Ghat in Dohar upazila of Dhaka with 15 friends on 14 July 2022 and went missing during the trip.
Following his disappearance, a Fire Service diving team conducted a search operation throughout the night but failed to locate him.
His body was recovered from the Mainot Ghat area at around 11:26am the following day, 15 July.
Later that day, Sunny's elder brother Hasanuzzaman filed a murder case with Dohar Police Station, naming the 15 friends who had accompanied him on the trip as accused.
They were arrested after the case was filed but are currently out on bail.
The accused are Shariful Hossain, Shakil Ahmed, Sejan Ahmed, Rubel, Sajib, Nuruzzaman, Nasir, Maruf, Ashraful Alam, Jahangir Hossain Liton, Noman, Zahid, ATM Shahriar Momin, Maruful Haque Maruf and Rokonuzzaman alias Jitu.
