Nusrat Tabassum, a leader of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking to regain her candidacy in the Parliament reserved women's seats election.
According to court sources, her petition may be heard today (27 April) by the High Court bench of Justice Ahmed Sohel and Justice Fatema Anwar.
Earlier, the Election Commission (EC) cancelled her nomination after she submitted her nomination paper after the deadline on 22 April.
Election Commission sources said the deadline for submitting nomination papers was 4pm on 22 April.
However, Nusrat submitted her papers at 4:19pm. As a result, the EC cancelled her nomination for missing the deadline.
The same party's joint convener, Monira Sharmin, also had her candidature suspended earlier by the EC.
The election for the 13th Parliament reserved women's seats is scheduled to be held on 12 May.
