Previously, the court had fixed 4 March for delivering the verdict, but it was deferred to 31 March on that day.
A tribunal has deferred its verdict in a case filed against 22 people over the murder of businessman Golap Hossain Pinku of Nawabganj and set 13 May for the judgment.
The verdict was scheduled to be delivered today (31 March) at Dhaka's Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 by judge Md Rahibul Islam.
However, it was postponed as the judge is currently on leave due to illness.
Previously, the court had fixed 4 March for delivering the verdict, but it was deferred to 31 March on that day.
According to the case statement, Pinku, a businessman from Nawabganj, had long-standing disputes and enmity with the accused, including Matiur Rahman and his sister Mariam, over multiple issues and legal cases.
As per the allegations, on 26 March 2017, Pinku was on his way to market when the accused persons, allegedly acting on the plan and instructions of Matiur and Mariam, attacked him with sharp weapons and hacked him to death.
The day after the incident, Pinku's younger brother, Md Ershad, filed a murder case with Nawabganj Police Station.
