HC asks why CA Yunus should not be recognised as 'national reformer of New Bangladesh'
The court also asks why the July-August uprising martyrs should not be declared as 'national heroes'.
The High Court has issued a rule asking why Muhammad Yunus, chief adviser of the interim government, should not be recognised as a "national reformer of the New Bangladesh".
At the same time, the court asked why martyrs Abu Sayed, Mir Mugdho, and Wasim — along with other martyrs of the July-August uprising — should not be officially declared national heroes.
The HC bench, led by Justice Fahmida Quader, also questioned why a verified and comprehensive list of the movement's martyrs should not be published in the official gazette.

The cabinet secretary, law secretary, and other relevant authorities have been asked to respond within four weeks.
Advocate Mohammad Ali Jinnah represented the petitioner, while Assistant Attorney General Ikramul Kabir appeared on behalf of the state.
