Govt appoints three new prosecutors to ICT
The latest appointments raise the total number of prosecutors at the tribunal to 20
The government has appointed one deputy attorney general-ranked prosecutor and two assistant attorney general-ranked prosecutors to the International Crimes Tribunal.
The appointments were announced through a notification issued today (12 May) by the Solicitor Wing of the Law and Justice Division under the Ministry of Law.
Md Magfur Rahman Sheikh has been appointed with the rank of deputy attorney general, while Mohammad Ali Mia and Rafiul Islam have been appointed with the rank of assistant attorney general.
According to the notification, the three lawyers have been appointed as prosecutors at the tribunal until further notice for conducting cases before the International Crimes Tribunal.
Following the latest appointments, the total number of prosecutors at the tribunal now stands at 20.
