Court orders seizure of tax documents of ex-IGP Benazir’s wife, daughter
The application states that she concealed information about assets worth Tk16.02 crore and held undisclosed movable and immovable assets worth Tk31.69 crore.
A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of tax documents of Zishan Mirza, wife of former police chief Benazir Ahmed, and their daughter Tahsin Raisa binti Benazir.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz issued the order today (26 November) following two separate applications by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), confirmed court bench assistant, Md Riaz Hossain.
In the first application, ACC Deputy Director and case investigation officer Muhammad Zainal Abedin requested the seizure of Zishan Mirza's tax documents.
The application states that she concealed information about assets worth Tk16.02 crore and held undisclosed movable and immovable assets worth Tk31.69 crore. The seizure of her tax returns and related records is necessary for proper investigation.
In the second application, ACC requested the seizure of Tahsin Raisa's tax documents. The application alleges she held undisclosed movable and immovable assets worth Tk5.59 crore.
Her tax returns and related records have been ordered seized for review.
