Court orders seizure of ex-state minister Nasrul Hamid's Tk200 crore plot in Gulshan
The court passed the order after a hearing on the ACC’s plea today

A Dhaka court today (30 April) ordered relevant authorities to seize a Tk200 crore plot in the capital's Gulshan owned by former state minister for power, energy and minerals Nasrul Hamid.
Senior District and Sessions Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court Md Jakir Hossain passed the order based on a plea made by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), reports Prothom Alo.
According to ACC data, Nasrul Hamid has 37.95 decimal land in Gulshan, which has been registered under the name of Hamid Real Estate Construction Limited.
The court passed the order after a hearing on the ACC's plea today.
Earlier on 20 April, another Dhaka court ordered to seize three apartments and a flat owned by Nasrul.
The court also ordered the authorities to seize three land cruiser cars and block 70 bank accounts of the ex-state minister, ACC data showed.
On 27 January, the court had ordered to seize a flat and block 17 bank accounts owned by Nasrul's son Zarif Hamid.
The court had also imposed a travel ban on Zarif, according to ACC data.
Travel bans were also imposed on Nasrul and his wife by the court on 16 January.
During the hearing on the corruption case filed against Nasrul, ACC said he had assisted to amass illegal wealth worth Tk6.98 crore beyond known sources of income under his wife's name while he was in office.
The ACC filed the case against Nasrul on 26 December 2024, accusing him of amassing illegal wealth and suspicious transactions in his 98 bank accounts.
The ACC also filed cases against his wife Seema Hamid and son Zarif Hamid, accusing them of amassing wealth beyond known sources of income.
Nasrul was also accused in these cases, ACC data revealed.
