Complaint filed against ex-ACC chief, 3 others for accusing Khaleda, Tarique in 'false cases'

A complaint has been filed in a Dhaka court against four former top officials of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), accusing them of conspiracy, forgery, and filing false cases during the tenure of the 1/11 caretaker government against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
The complaint was submitted today (18 May) by a person named Harunur Rashid to the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman.
The individuals accused in the complaint include former ACC chairman Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury, former commissioners Habibur Rahman and Abul Hasan Manzur, and former secretary Mokhlesur Rahman.
Speaking to reporters, the plaintiff's lawyer, Hossain Ali Khan Hasan, said the court recorded the plaintiff's statement and fixed 25 May to deliver its decision on whether to accept the case.
According to the complaint, the accused, along with some unidentified individuals, allegedly held meetings and conspired to fabricate allegations that led to cases being filed against Khaleda and Tarique.
The plaintiff claimed that such acts are punishable offenses under existing Bangladeshi laws.
