BNP candidates file petitions seeking vote recount in Rajshahi-4, Pabna-4
The court issued notices to the winning candidates and fixed 11 May for the hearing.
BNP candidates have filed petitions with the High Court seeking a recount of votes in Rajshahi-4 and Pabna-4 in the 13th national parliamentary election, alleging irregularities.
The Election Appellate Tribunal led by Justice Md Zakir Hossain accepted the petitions today (1 March) for hearing. The court also directed the Election Commission to take custody of the election materials of the two constituencies.

In Rajshahi-4, defeated BNP candidate Ziaur Rahman alleged irregularities against Jamaat candidate Abdul Bari.
In Pabna-4, defeated BNP candidate Habibur Rahman made similar allegations against Jamaat's winning candidate Abu Taleb Mondol.
