A Dhaka court today (21 April) showed arrested seven individuals including Awami League presidium member Amir Hossain Amu, former law minister Anisul Huq and former ICT senior prosecutor Barrister Tureen Afroz in different cases filed over killings during the 2024 July uprising.

The other arrestees are Shahjahan Khan, Kamal Ahmed Mazumder, Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Dilip Kumar Agarwala.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan passed the orders as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to show them arrested in the cases.

The court subsequently sent them back to jail.

Of the seven, Anisul and Palak were shown arrested in Ismail Hossain Rabbi killing case filed with Shahbagh Police Station, while Amu and Shahjahan were shown arrested in Monir murder case filed with the same police station. 

Barrister Tureen Afroz was shown arrested in Anwar Patwari murder case and Kamal Mazumder in Abdullah Kabir killing case, both filed with the Mirpur Model Police Station. 

Dilip Kumar Agarwala was shown arrested in Anisur Rahman Ashik murder case filed with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
