AKM Asaduzzaman, Farah Mahbub sworn in as Appellate Division justices

Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Farah Mahbub have been sworn in as justices of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.
Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed administered the oath at around 10:40am today (25 March).
The oath-taking ceremony, conducted by Supreme Court Registrar General Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, took place in the Judges' Lounge of the Supreme Court.
Several dignitaries, including judges from the Appellate Division and High Court Division, Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman, and Supreme Court Bar Association President Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, were present at the ceremony.
Yesterday (24 March), President Mohammed Shahabuddin appointed Justice Asaduzzaman and Justice Mahbub as judges of the Appellate Division.
The appointment was officially announced through a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs.
According to the notification, under the authority of Article 95(1) of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the president appointed the two High Court Division justices to the Appellate Division.
The appointment became effective from the date of their oath-taking.
The Supreme Court administration stated that the appointments were made based on the recommendation of the Supreme Judicial Appointment Council, following consultation with the chief justice.
