87 DU students charged over question paper leak
CID has formally charged 125 people with involvement in question paper leak and admission fraud
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has formally charged 125 people, including 87 students of Dhaka University, with involvement in question paper leak and admission fraud.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of CID Suman Kumar Das submitted the charge sheet to Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Sunday.
The specialised wing of the police previously arrested 47 people, including the mastermind – former Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) Assistant Director Alip Kumar.

The CID had also arrested three other government officials and 21 DU students.
However, most of the suspects, including Alip, are now out on bail.
CID officials said they were looking for 90 more DU students who too passed the university entry tests through cheating.
“A supplementary charge sheet will be submitted after we verify their names and addresses,” a CID official said, seeking anonymity.
Among those involved, some are activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, said sources in the CID.
In January last year, the DU authorities expelled 15 students over their involvement in leaking question papers and cheating in admission tests.
According to media reports and DU investigation, several unscrupulous schoolteachers and office assistants used to provide the gang with question papers minutes before the exams.
In 2017, the same gang leaked question papers of DU’s Gha unit admission test from a printing press in the capital’s Indira Road.
A case was filed with Shahbagh police station in this connection in October 2017 under the Public Examinations Act and the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.
