3 more remanded over attack on New Gini Properties

A Dhaka court today (1 October) placed three more people on a three-day remand each in a case lodged over the attack, vandalism and looting at New Gini Properties housing project in the capital's ECB Chattar area.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Monirul Islam passed the order as police produced the trio before the court and pleaded to place them on a five-day remand each.
Earlier on 30 September, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Siddique Azad placed three other accused on a three-day remand each in the case.
According to the case documents, on the night of September 26, around 50 men carried out the attack at the New Gini Properties Housing Project in South Manikdi, near ECB Chattar.
They vandalised and looted the property. YouTuber Salman Muqtadir's 'Brownfish studio', located inside the project, was also attacked.
Saiful Islam Bhuiyan, a director of New Gini Properties, filed a case with Cantonment Police Station following the incident.
