3 get life term over college student murder in Rajshahi

A Rajshahi tribunal has sentenced life-term imprisonment to three accused in a case filed over the killing of a college student in Charghat upazila of the district four years ago.
The convicts are— Ashik Ali, a friend of the victim; Ashik Ali's father Kalam Ali and brother Arif Ali—from Dalipara village of the upazila.
Judge Mohd Mohiduzzaman of Rajshahi Speedy Trial Tribunal passed the verdict after a hearing today (21 July).
According to the tribunal, Ashik Islam, a college student, was critically injured during a clash with his friend Ashik Ali and the family the night before Eid-ul-Adha in July 2021 over a trivial matter.
