10 to die, 5 get life term for killing a Ctg UP chairman

A Chattogram court has sentenced 10 accused to death and five to lifetime imprisonment for killing Satkania Sonakania union parishad's former chairman Amjad Hossain 21 years ago.
Division Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge AKM Mozammel Haque passed the order.
The court also acquitted four accused from the charge, Public Prosecutor Mohammad Ayub Khan confirmed it.

Amjad Hossain was shot dead on 3 October in 1999 in front of Mirzakhil Darbar Sharif Mosque in Satkania.
His wife, Chaida Syeda Raushan Akhter, filed a murder case with Satkania Police Station the following day against 20 people.
Police filed the chargesheet on 22 December in 2000.
