Court halts organisational activities of JaPa Chairman GM Quader
The judge has also suspended the expulsion of 10 individuals from the party by Quader.

A Dhaka court has imposed a temporary injunction on Jatiyo Party (JaPa) Chairman GM Quader, restricting him from engaging in any organisational activities within the party.
Judge Md Nurul Islam of Dhaka's First Joint District Judge Court issued the order after hearing a case filed by 10 plaintiffs today (31 July), which also imposed the same restriction on JaPa Joint Office Secretary Mahmud Alam.
Confirming the development, the court's Bench Assistant Sakhawat Hossain said the order also suspended the expulsion of 10 individuals from the party by Quader.
The court's directive comes amid ongoing internal disputes within JaPa, highlighting tensions over leadership and decision-making within the party's central structure.
The individuals who were removed from their positions are the party's Senior Co-Chairmen Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud and ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader, Secretary General Md Mujibul Haque Chunnu, Deputy Office Secretary-2 MA Razzak Khan, Presidium Members Solaiman Alam Seth (Chattogram), Nazma Akter (Feni), Md Zahirul Islam Zahir (Tangail), Mostafa Al Mahmud (Jamalpur), Jasim Uddin (Netrokona), and Arifur Rahman Khan (Gazipur).
In the court order, the judge noted that the party positions, including the primary memberships of these ten individuals dismissed by GM Quader, have been restored while the case is under trial.
A temporary injunction has been issued against GM Quader and Joint Office Secretary Mahmud Alam, barring them from taking further organisational actions during the trial.
Until the case is resolved, the court has imposed a temporary restriction on the use of Section 20(1)(A) of the Constitution.
Additionally, the court has instructed that organisational activities be continued based on seniority and in sequence.
When asked about the matter, the plaintiff's lawyer Abdul Bari said the court has temporarily prohibited GM Quader from executing any organisational authority until further notice.
The court has also ordered the reinstatement of all positions and memberships of the ten expelled individuals.
According to the case complaint, on 18 July 2019, in violation of the party's constitution, then Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga declared GM Quader as the party's chairman.
Later, on 28 December of that year, GM Quader held a party conference and council and illegally approved a new constitution.
Most recently, on 28 June 2025, ten presidium members were dismissed from all party positions, including their primary memberships, and their names were also removed from the party's official website.
In response to these actions, on 10 July, the ten affected individuals jointly filed a case against GM Quader and three others.
