Zero tolerance against corruption: New chief justice
Comparing corruption with cancer, newly-appointed Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique said he will never condone corruption in the judiciary.
"No compromise regarding any cases of corruption," said the chief justice during his reception by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Attorney General's Office on Sunday.
He said if there is cancer in a finger, it needs amputation, so is the case with corruption.

"Action will be taken immediately against anyone who is found involved in corruption, even if they are officers or employees of my division," he announced.
Justice Siddique also assured that he will work toward reducing the backlog of cases, eradicating corruption from the judiciary system and aligning the bar and the bench.
The reception was held around 10:30am at courtroom No 1 of the Appellate Division.
Attorney General AM Amin Uddin and SCBA Secretary Ruhul Quddus Kazal read out separate statements on behalf of the Attorney General's Office and the bar association, respectively.
