Purbachol plot scam: Ex-Rajuk member Khurshid shown arrested in 3 graft cases
Judge Md Robiul Alam of Dhaka’s Special Judge Court-4 passed the order today
Mohammad Khurshid Alam, former Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) member (Estate and Land), has been shown arrested in three corruption cases over alleged irregularities in plot allocations involving Sheikh Rehana, Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, and Azmina Siddiq Ruponti.
Judge Md Robiul Alam of Dhaka's Special Judge Court-4 passed the order today (2 November) following a petition from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
ACC prosecutor Md Tarikul Islam said Khurshid was produced before the court today following an order by the court. The court informed him that charges had been framed in his absence on 31 July. He pleaded not guilty and sought justice.
So far, five witnesses have testified in the three cases.
A total of 17 individuals, including Sheikh Rehana, Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, and Sheikh Hasina, have been named as accused in one case. In the second case, 18 individuals, including Azmina Siddiq Ruponti, Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby, and Sheikh Hasina, were named as accused. In the third case, another 18 individuals, including Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby and Sheikh Hasina, have been listed as accused.
The ACC filed the cases in January over alleged corruption in Rajuk plot allocations.
