Everyone should work together to prevent corruption, says Dilwar Bakht, senior secretary of the ACC
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will take steps to amend the law, if necessary, to ensure the punishment of the corrupt people, said Dilwar Bakht, senior secretary of ACC.
He made the remarks at a human chain organised by Reporters Against Corruption (RAC) – an organisation of journalists working on the ACC beat – on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day on Wednesday, according to a press statement.
Emphasising the importance of corruption prevention, he said that all the countries of the world are celebrating International Anti-Corruption Day together.

"Reports have been published at different times to prevent corruption. And on the basis of those, anti-corruption organisations are working against corruption," he said, according to the statement.
Dilwar Bakht also said that everyone should work together to prevent corruption.
He continued, "The ACC is being further modernised to identify the corrupt. And they will be brought under the law using information technology."
International Anti-Corruption Day was celebrated in different countries of the world including Bangladesh on Wednesday.
This time the 18th International Anti-Corruption Day is being celebrated. The United Nations (UN) announced 9 December as International Anti-Corruption Day in 2003.
The UN is conducting anti-corruption activities through the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) to unite the world against corruption.
The ACC started observing the day in 2007 as Bangladesh is a member state of UNCAC, although the day has been officially celebrated since 2017 in the country.
RAC President Mohiuddin Ahmed and General Secretary Ahmmad Foyez, among others, were present at the event.
