Former Dhaka Taxes Appellate Tribunal member Ranjit sued over graft allegations

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against Ranjit Kumar Talukder, a former member of the Dhaka Taxes Appellate Tribunal, and his wife Jhumur Majumder over allegations of amassing wealth illegally worth Tk3.40 crore.
Speaking to reporters in Dhaka today (4 May), ACC Director General Akhtar Hossain said Ranjit has been accused of misusing his official position to unlawfully acquire wealth amounting to Tk2.24 crore for personal gain.
Also, his wife Jhumur has been accused of accumulating assets illegally worth Tk1.16 crore, allegedly using her husband's influence and financial assistance, Akhtar added.
The case has been filed under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act.
